Sysco Food Safety

Sysco is a global foodservice leader that requires Sysco brand food and food contact suppliers to have GFSI – recognized certification. 

Key Food Safety Audit Requirements for Sysco Suppliers:

  • Sysco requires approved Sysco Brand food and food contact disposable suppliers to undergo an annual Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) audit, such as, SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, or PrimusGFS conducted by an authorized certification body. 
  • According to Sysco, All suppliers of Sysco Brand fresh, ready-to-eat produce are required to comply with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
  • All Sysco Brand suppliers must pass an initial facility audit administered by Sysco QA.
