The Overview:
Plant-based chemical company, Trucent Renewable Chemicals, engaged Kellerman Consulting to write and help implement their FSSC 22000 certification program in order to satisfy the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification requirements of an important customer.
The Result
With the support of Kellerman Consulting, Trucent Renewable Chemicals, manufacturer of plant based Fatty Acids, and Glycerin passed their FSSC 22000 certification audit in 6 months from the start of the project.
Our Process
Intake Process and FSSC 22000 Gap Assessment
- Kellerman Consulting had worked with Trucent Renewable Chemicals in 2023 to write and implement their FDA compliant Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) program, therefore, there was a strong foundational base to start building the FSSC 22000 program from.
FSSC 22000 Program Development
- Tailored documents to meet FSSC 22000 certification standards were created and released to the client within 5 weeks.
- Documents were further customized to the client’s operation during implementation calls leading up to the Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits.
FSSC 22000 Program Implementation
- Implementation calls were held weekly with several of the site’s Quality team to review, explain, and tailor each program to fit their needs and operations.
- During the process of implementation, Trucent Renewable Chemicals had multiple successful customer audits by major customers.
- Kellerman Consulting assisted with the responses required after the customer audits to satisfy Trucent Renewable Chemicals’ key customers prior to their scheduled FSSC 22000 certification audit.
FSSC 22000 Audit Preparation
- A site visit was conducted to complete a full in-person internal audit of the FSSC 22000 program.
- Findings from the Internal Audit helped guide final efforts to prepare for the stage 1 audit and close identified gaps in the program.Â
- Trucent Renewable Chemicals passed a stage 2 audit very quickly after their stage 1 audit.
